Initial training

The initial training of justice system personnel is carried out, for the first time in the Republic of Moldova, under the exclusive aegis of the National Institute of Justice.

Initial training is the educational and practical foundation on which specialists with higher legal education rely. Completing and graduating from this stage is the sine qua non condition for accession to the position of judge or prosecutor.

The admission of candidates in the appointment process is carried out exclusively through a national competition, characterized by transparency and a rigorous merit-based selection.

The INJ curricula emphasize disciplines absolutely essential to practising the profession: in-depth knowledge of national legislation, the application of the case-law of the higher courts and of the Constitutional Court, as well as the complex interpretation of comparative law and the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).
