The NIJ is the sole judicial training centre in the Republic of Moldova, established under Law no. 152-XVI of 8 June 2006. It provides the initial and continuing training of judges, prosecutors and other justice professionals.
Three groups: candidates for the offices of judge and prosecutor, through initial training; sitting judges and prosecutors, through continuing training; and the auxiliary corps of the justice system — court clerks, judicial assistants and consultants.
Through an admission competition announced by the NIJ, with separate places for candidates for judge and for prosecutor; the number of places is approved annually. Applicants must meet the conditions set out in the Law on the status of the judge no. 544-XIII of 1995 and the Law on the Prosecution Service no. 3 of 2016.
