The Director is assisted by a Deputy Director, appointed by the Council, at the Director's proposal, from among persons holding a degree in law, public administration, or management, or an equivalent degree, whose professional qualifications and work experience in the last five years are appropriate for fulfilling the Institute's duties.
The Deputy Director's mandate ends together with the Director's mandate, but they continue to exercise their duties until a new Deputy Director is appointed. The Deputy Director may be dismissed by Council decision, at the Director's proposal.
The Institute's director defines, by order, the duties of the deputy director.
In the Director's absence, the Deputy Director exercises their duties. In the absence of the Deputy Director, until the completion of the competition, the Director's duties are exercised by a person designated by the Minister of Justice.
