Dear INJ beneficiaries!
We invite you to apply to the first module of the electronic course on the examination of electoral disputes on the ILIAS Platform of INJ - "Settlement of electoral disputes. ECtHR module". The module was developed within the Council of Europe Project "Improving electoral practice in the Republic of Moldova, phase II" in cooperation with the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova, the National Institute of Justice and the Center for Continuous Training in the Electoral Field.
Training hours: 20 hours.
Participants: 30 judges, judicial assistants, lawyers, election officials.
Course registration period: November 14, 2022 – November 23, 2022.
Active period of the course: November 30, 2022 – January 15, 2023.
Equipment needed by the student: computer/laptop/tablet, internet connection.
General description of the course:
The objective of the module is to understand and apply the European Convention on Human Rights and the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights regarding the settlement of electoral disputes.
The module provides a broad description, through the ECtHR jurisprudence, of the principles of interpretation of the right to free elections (Article 3 Protocol no. 1), of the situations in which Article 3 of Protocol no. 1 does not apply to restrictions on the right to vote and to run in elections. At the same time, the participants will familiarize themselves with the relevant jurisprudence in which other rights of the Convention can be affected during the electoral campaigns, as well as with the cases of the Republic of Moldova at the ECtHR.

Certification: Beneficiaries who pass the module will receive certificates issued by INJ.
