tutoring: certified HELP tutor,

40 hours of training, active period of the course: 05.12.2022-29.12.2022.

3. Mentoring program on women's access to justice

Participation in the Mentoring Program on Women's Access to Justice (16 hours of training) is conditional on the previous passing of the HELP e-course "Access to Justice for Women" and/or "Violence against Women and Domestic Violence" or concurrent application to the e-courses and program under the current release. Mentorship consists of a series of meetings organized monthly online/offline, lasting 1.5-2 hours, between December 6, 2022 and August 6, 2023 (eight months).

The mentoring methodology links theories on access to justice, international human rights law and the daily experience of practitioners, with particular attention to specific areas where difficulties are frequently encountered. Mentoring engages the "learner" (mentee) in directing the learning process so that it is highly relevant to their own work experience.

The topics of the mentoring sessions are:

  1. Introduction: getting to know each other and goal setting.
  2. What does "women's access to justice" have to do with me?
  3. "Justice is blind" does not mean "gender blind"!
  4. Exploring barriers to justice for women.
  5. Access to justice in cases of violence against women.
  6. Application of international law on women's rights in national courts.
  7. Working with jurisprudence.
  8. What can be done to eliminate gender stereotypes from legal processes?
  9. Using gender-sensitive practices in real life.
  10. Conclusion, evaluation and next steps.

The courses and mentoring program are certified by INJ. You can apply to one or both e-courses provided you do not already hold a certificate to pass them.

Application period: 28.11.2022-02.12.2022.
