Law students, ELSA members, visiting the National Institute of Justice

On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, the National Institute of Justice was visited by a group of law school students, members of the European Law Students Association (ELSA) – young people interested in exploring the opportunities of a career in justice and getting to know the admission mechanisms, as well as the specifics of the initial training.

The director of the National Institute of Justice, Ramona Strugariu, emphasized that the Institute is in a continuous process of development and modernization, with an emphasis on improving training programs and expanding experience exchanges. The purpose of these efforts is to train future judges and prosecutors capable of meeting European standards and the demands of the position.

"The professions of prosecutor and judge require courage, commitment and dedication. If you find yourself in these values and feel that you can contribute to the strengthening of the justice system, I urge you to pursue this goal with determination. The National Institute of Justice offers you the necessary framework for a thorough training, and the choice to apply to the initial training course can represent the first decisive step in your professional career," said Deputy Director Ghennadi Epure, a graduate of INJ.

The participants watched an informative material about the process and conditions for participating in the INJ admission contest. At the same time, they were presented with aspects regarding the organization of the training, including process simulations and practical activities carried out during the training.

The audience experience was shared by Dan Furculita, candidate for the position of prosecutor, and Svetlana Brătescu, candidate for the position of judge, who spoke about the particularities of the training activities, as well as about the challenges and opportunities of this professional stage. The students also had the opportunity to interact with the graduates of the Institute - Octavian Bivol, seconded prosecutor and head of the continuing training Section, and Victoria Ojog, candidate for the position of judge and main specialist in the initial training Section - who spoke about their own professional path, the experience gained and the relevance of the training offered by the Institute.

The visit ended with a question and answer session, followed by a guided tour of the most representative training rooms. At the end, the participants had the opportunity to symbolically put on the mantle of judge or prosecutor.
