Seminar on Framework Decision 909 and its impact on the transfer of prisoners
The European Law Academy (ERA) organizes the seminar "Framework Decision 909 and its impact on the transfer of prisoners", intended for legal professionals involved in cross-border judicial cooperation in the matter of detention.
The event will take place at Lisbon, Portugal, during the period 11-12 May 2026, with simultaneous interpretation in English and Portuguese.
The training activity is part of the series of seminars co-financed by the European Union and will address practical aspects regarding the application of Framework Decision 909, which regulates the execution of custodial sentences and the transfer of convicted persons, including in the context of interaction with the European arrest warrant and the recognition of court decisions. Also, good practices, the principle of mutual trust and relevant aspects regarding persons with foreign citizenship deprived of their liberty will be examined.
The seminar is intended for judges, prosecutors, lawyers and prison staff from the eligible states participating in the Justice Program of the European Union, including the Republic of Moldova.
Participation fee: 120 euros (travel and accommodation expenses can be reimbursed according to the standard costs established by the organizers).
