Summer school for trainers in the field of prevention and combating online sexual exploitation and abuse of children
At the National Institute of Justice, on June 24-25, 2025, the summer school for trainers focused on preventing and combating online sexual exploitation and abuse of children (EASCO) was held.
At the opening of the training program, the director of the National Institute of Justice, Ramona Strugariu, the head of the Council of Europe Office in Chisinau, Falk Lange, the deputy general secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, Cristina Jandić, and the deputy general secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Andrei Cecoltan, spoke.
Intended for professionals from the legal sector - judges, prosecutors, criminal investigation officers, child protection specialists - the activity aimed at strengthening training skills in the field of preventing and combating online sexual exploitation and abuse of children. The international and national experts, Hania el Helweh and Elena Cobzac, addressed fundamental topics, including: the legal framework of material and procedural criminal law applicable to EASCO, the modern methods of proactive and reactive criminal investigation, the protection of the child victim or witness involved in criminal proceedings, as well as the mechanisms of inter-institutional cooperation specific to this field. Also, the participants put into practice the knowledge acquired by analyzing some case studies.
The summer school was organized by the National Institute of Justice and the Council of Europe project "End the online sexual exploitation and abuse of children @Europe Plus (EndOCSEA@Europe+)".
