Public lecture at INJ: "Common Commercial Policy of the European Union: the powers and role of national courts"
The National Institute of Justice announces the organization, on February 18, 2026, of the public lesson "The European Union's Common Commercial Policy: Competences and the Role of National Courts".
The lesson will be taught by Cornelia Furculita, Dr. Iur., and is addressed to the INJ audience, students and master's students of law schools.
The objective of the event is to familiarize the participants with the common commercial policy of the European Union, in the context of the European course of the Republic of Moldova. Competencies regarding the finalization of the common commercial policy rest with the European Union, however, according to the jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the European Union, establishing the competence to conclude international trade and investment agreements is a complex and often controversial matter.
Also, the lesson will address the essential role of national courts in the implementation of the common commercial policy in concrete cases, despite the fact that it belongs to the exclusive competence of the European Union.
