The laureates of the 5th edition of the republican fine arts competition "The future of justice in the European community" picked up their prizes

The finalists of the republican plastic arts contest "The future of justice in the European community: the vision of young people on justice in the Republic of Moldova" received their prizes during a celebration organized at the National Institute of Justice.

The 5th edition of the contest was intended for students aged between 11 and 17 from general schools, gymnasiums, high schools, art schools, centers of excellence and art colleges from all over the country, being organized by the National Institute of Justice and the "Alexei Șciusev" School of Fine Arts, in partnership with the Council of Europe project "Protection of children against violence and its prevention, including in the online environment in the Republic of Moldova".

"Today we celebrate not only the individual achievements of the winners, but also their contribution to the exploration and interpretation of the theme of this year's contest. Each work expresses a unique and personal vision of how justice can evolve and adapt in the context of our country's accession to the European Union", stated, at the opening of the event, the interim Director of the INJ, Adrian Cerbu.

At the award ceremony, the Director of the "A. Șciusev" School of Fine Arts, Olimpiada Arbuz-Spatari, senior coordinator of the CoE project "Protection of children against violence and its prevention, including in the online environment in the Republic of Moldova", Angelica Russu, member of the Jury, head of the Department of Technical-Theoretical Disciplines in Visual Arts of the Faculty of Decorative Plastic Arts and Design at the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts, Vladimir Lozovanu spoke.

The jury, made up of representatives of the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts, the "Ion Creangă" State Pedagogical University, the National Institute of Justice and the Office of the Council of Europe in Chisinau, chose the laureates according to creativity, the application of artistic techniques, the originality and relevance of the message conveyed through their works. Among the almost 80 works, winners were chosen for two age categories:

first category (11-14 years):

1st place - Evelina Vrednic, 14 years old, "Falling stars of European justice", "Alexei Șciusev" School of Fine Arts, Chisinau, Prof. Lucia Bobeica;

2nd place - Antonina Roșca, 13 years old, "Power of Justice", "Alexei Șciusev" Fine Arts School, Chisinau, Prof. Lucia Bobeica;

Third place - Sofia Oprea, 12 years old, "Access to justice: the key to the open road to the future", Regional School of Fine Arts, Șoldănești, Prof. Oxana Iaghilova;

second category (15-17 years):

1st place - Lucian Gonța, 16 years old, "Monitoring, modernization and innovation", District School of Fine Arts, Șoldăneşti, Prof. Iurie Durnea;

second place - Dana Schiță, 17 years old, "Transparency and accessibility", Regional School of Fine Arts, Șoldănești, Prof. Iurie Durnea;

third place – Maria Bodiu, 17 years old, "Political influence", District School of Fine Arts, Șoldănești, Prof. Iurie Durnea.

The special prize of the INJ reached Dumitru Antoci, 11 years old, "Promoting recovery and reintegration", District School of Fine Arts, Șoldănești, Prof. Iurie Durnea, and Special prize of the CoE Office in Chisinau - at Amelia Aftenev, 11 years old, "The future of justice - the magic of colors", School of Arts "Valeriu Poleakov", Chisinau, Prof. Zinaida Ursu.

Certificates of Merit were awarded to ten other competitors in the under 14 age category to recognize the effort and quality of work submitted by the younger artists.

The republican plastic arts competition "The future of justice in the European community: the vision of young people on justice in the Republic of Moldova" took place between March and May 2024. This year's edition followed promoting fundamental European values, through fine art and creativity, in the context of obtaining the status of a candidate country for joining the European Union, as well as encouraging students to explore various aspects of justice, offering their perspective on the future of justice in our country. The action is part of the series of activities carried out on the basis of the Collaboration Agreement signed by the National Institute of Justice and the "Alexei Șciusev" School of Fine Arts.
