Meeting with representatives of the World Bank
On the afternoon of Wednesday, January 28, 2026, the director of the National Institute of Justice, Ramona Strugariu, welcomed the representatives of the World Bank, Vitalii Kasko and Dmytro Kotlyar. The meeting was also attended by the deputy director of INJ, Ghennadi Epure, and the head of the Continuing Education Section, Octavian Bivol.
The exchange of views focused on the prospects for improving the selection and professional training processes of future judges and prosecutors, as well as on identifying effective solutions for increasing the attractiveness of legal professions. In this context, the importance of maintaining high quality standards in the stages of admission and graduation was emphasized, also highlighting the need for legislative mechanisms to ensure the predictability of the professional path for the audience of the National Institute of Justice. The opportunity of taking over some models of good practices from other states, which would facilitate the rapid integration of graduates into the judicial system, was also discussed.
Another topic of the meeting concerned the continuing specialized training in the field of combating high-level corruption and the recovery of criminal assets. The discussions focused on the organization of interactive sessions, such as a workshop or round table, which would bring together judges, prosecutors and experts in order to analyze the practical challenges encountered in the examination of high corruption cases.
