The National Institute of Justice strengthens its capacities to prevent discrimination and sexual harassment
The National Institute of Justice, assisted by the UN Women Moldova Program "Enhancing women's leadership for resilient and peaceful societies", with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, started a series of actions aimed at preventing discrimination and harassment in the institutional environment.
The main directions of intervention are aimed at developing the professional skills of all members of the INJ community – collaborators, trainers and audiences – as well as the participatory development of an internal policy document that responds to the challenges and needs of a judicial training institution.
On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, the first workshop specialized in preventing inappropriate behaviors in the organizational space was held. During the training, facilitated by the lawyer Vadim Vieru, the complex issues and examples of discrimination and harassment were explored, including the aspects related to the identification, prevention and management of sensitive situations. Through interactive discussions, the fundamental concepts in the field, the institutional mechanisms, the ethical and legal dimensions of sexual harassment were analyzed.
The initiative will continue next week with a co-creation session that will generate an internal policy on this segment. Thus, a common vision will be developed that reflects the aspirations of the institution and the reporting procedures, investigation methods, protective measures for victims and witnesses, disciplinary sanctions and continuous training programs will be detailed.
Through this initiative, the National Institute of Justice reaffirms its commitment to develop an academic and professional environment in which diversity is valued, human dignity is respected and the principle of non-discrimination is promoted.
