INJ starts the entrance exam for candidates for the positions of judge and prosecutor

The National Institute of Justice has started the entrance exam for the initial training course for future judges and prosecutors. The selection process, structured in two main stages, includes the electronic written test (an eliminative psychological test and a specialized test) and the oral test.

Starting today, July 15, 2024, potential candidates for the positions of judge and prosecutor take the eliminative psychological test. The results, calculated automatically by a computer program, will determine the contestants' eligibility for the next phase – the specialty test. It consists of a grid test of 400 questions, randomly generated by the Information System of the INJ, from among the 1600 available in the following disciplines: civil law, civil procedural law, administrative law, administrative procedural law, criminal law, criminal procedural law and human rights. Thus, the software will create individual tests for the participants of the entrance exam, eliminating the possibility of repeating questions.

Conformable The admission competition calendar, the oral stage of the exam is planned between September 30 and October 4, 2024 and will include solving two cases from the above-mentioned disciplines.

To ensure transparency, both the written and oral test will be audio and video recorded.

A new element of this year's admission concerns the evaluation of competitors by two commissions specialized in civil law and civil procedure, respectively, in criminal law and criminal procedure. Another important feature of the current session is the additional integrity checks of the candidates. According to the changes Law no. 152 of 2006 regarding the National Institute of Justice, INJ will ask the National Integrity Authority to analyze the wealth declarations, and the National Anti-Corruption Center and the Intelligence and Security Service to provide information on the integrity of those who passed the first test. If, following the control carried out, it will be found that the applicant to become an INJ audience has violated the legal regime of declaring personal assets and interests or does not correspond to the criterion of impeccable reputation provided for in Law no. 544 of 1995 regarding the status of the judge și Law no. 3 of 2016 regarding the Prosecutor's Office, then he will be eliminated from the competition, through the reasoned decision of the specialized admission committees.

This year, the Council of the National Institute of Justice, in accordance with the decisions of the Superior Council of the Magistracy and the Superior Council of Prosecutors regarding the establishment of the number of places, took out 25 places in the admission competition for candidates for the position of judge and for candidates for the position of prosecutor.
