Exploring new horizons: Law students visiting INJ
Young people from the Association of Law Students of the State University of Moldova and the students of the Institute of Criminal Sciences and Applied Criminology visited, on the afternoon of Thursday, May 16, 2024, the National Institute of Justice.
In order to better understand the purpose and role of the INJ in the training of future judges and prosecutors, the visitors interacted with the Interim Director of the INJ, Adrian Cerbu, with the head of the Initial Training Section, Iulia Gorbatenco, as well as with the INJ graduates – Eleonora Badan-Melnic, judge at the Center Court, Octavian Bivol, prosecutor in the Chisinau Municipal Prosecutor's Office, Doina-Cezara Galasîn and Cătălin Lîi, candidates for the position by the prosecutor.
In particular, aspiring lawyers learned about the admission procedure and the complex process of initial training with an emphasis on the development of practical skills essential for the profession of judge or prosecutor. Various aspects related to the performance of process simulations and other practical activities that contribute to the preparation of the audience for subsequent careers were also addressed.
Thus, gaining a detailed perspective on how this important institution in our legal system works, young people have a clearer picture of the professional path they can follow after completing the initial training courses at INJ.
Towards the end of the visit, the students took a tour of the most representative study rooms of the National Institute of Justice: the computer room and the trial simulation room.
The National Institute of Justice is the only judicial training institution in the country that prepares future judges and prosecutors. The initial training lasts 18 months, and the trainees receive a monthly stipend equal to an average salary in the economy. Between May 20 and June 19, 2024, potential INJ auditors can submit their files online in the INJ Information System. For more details, go to /admiterea-inj.
