Directions of collaboration, discussed at the INJ with OSCE representatives
On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the National Institute of Justice, the meeting of the Director of the INJ, Ramona Strugariu with the representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE): Vera Strobachova-Budway, head of the Economic Governance Unit, and Erlin Agich from the Office of the Coordinator of Economic and Environmental Activities took place.
The meeting marked the initiation of discussions on collaboration in order to strengthen the capacities of INJ beneficiaries in combating, preventing and prosecuting financial crimes in the digital age. In particular, aspects related to the organization, during the current March 24-25, of the pilot workshop, which would improve the professional skills of Moldovan judges and prosecutors in the investigation and examination of crimes committed with the help of electronic currencies, were addressed. The workshop will be followed by follow-up sessions held in the form of a summer school, thus ensuring the continuity and deepening of the acquired knowledge. At the same time, the parties agreed to extend the benefits of the project to other groups of participants, including the INJ audience, recognizing the importance of early training in this segment.
Another important topic concerned the possibility of organizing training activities and study visits, within a future OSCE project dedicated to anti-corruption, as well as the development of an e-course on virtual assets, to be integrated on the distance training platform of ILIAS of INJ. Complementarily, as a valuable resource for the individual study of INJ beneficiaries, it will be provided OSCE Guide to Virtual Assets.
The meeting was also attended by Ecaterina Popa, head of the Training and Research Directorate, Olga Marandici, head of the International Relations Section, and Octavian Bivol, head of the Continuous Training Section.
