The beneficiaries of the 3rd edition of the Interviewer Training Program in the field of interviewing the child victim/witness of/of the crime received their passing certificates

On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, the Ministry of Justice held the workshop "Status of the interviewer in the Republic of Moldova: challenges and perspectives" which included an event to totalize The training program for interviewers in the field of interviewing the child victim/witness of the crime. The 12 beneficiaries of the training sessions from all over the country, including from the Transnistrian region, were handed certificates attesting to the completion of the course.

At the opening, the Minister of Justice, Veronica Mihailov-Moraru, the interim Director of the National Institute of Justice, Adrian Cerbu, the UNICEF Deputy Country Representative in the Republic of Moldova, Ilija Talev, and the President of the National Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, Daniela Sîmboteanu, spoke.

In his address, the interim Director of the National Institute of Justice, Adrian Cerbu, mentioned the importance of training a new batch of interviewers, as well as preparing the judicial system to provide an adequate, sensitive and adapted response to the needs of children who go through traumatic experiences. "As an institution whose mission is to deliver quality training, we were honored to be partners in the implementation of the specially created course to develop the skills necessary to hear minors in accordance with the legal provisions and to ensure the protection and respect of children's rights during the hearing process", emphasized the Interim Director of INJ.

Now in its third edition, the Training Program took place between March and August 2024, being developed in partnership by the National Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, the National Institute of Justice, the Ministry of Justice, UNICEF and the World Childhood foundation.

During the event, there was also a discussion panel between the representatives of various relevant institutions regarding the challenges and perspectives of the status of the interviewer in the Republic of Moldova.

The activity was part of the project "Better services for children in contact with the justice system, parents and adolescents", implemented by CNPAC and UNICEF with the financial support of the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic, through the German Development Bank.
