The deepening of inter-institutional cooperation, discussed between the National Institute of Justice and the Superior Council of Prosecutors

The director of the National Institute of Justice, Ramona Strugariu, paid a visit, Monday, March 31, 2025, to the headquarters of the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP), where she had a meeting with the President of the CSP, Dumitru Obada, and the members of the Council. The dialogue was part of the actions to strengthen inter-institutional collaboration, with an emphasis on the essential role of both entities in the formation and evolution of the career of prosecutors from the Republic of Moldova.

During the discussions, relevant topics were addressed: the current training needs of the body of prosecutors, the adaptation of training methodologies, the coherence of the professional path, the identification of effective ways of mutual support and the increase of citizens' trust in the act of justice.

Ramona Strugariu noted the intention of the INJ to become a regional judicial training center and the determination to promptly respond to the challenges of the system, by adjusting the training programs to the real needs of the profession. You also spoke about the implementation of the recommendations of the TAIEX mission and the adoption of successful models from the member states of the European Union, through which the National Institute of Justice becomes the only gateway to the profession of prosecutor and judge. This strategic approach ensures a uniform standard of training and selection, thereby guaranteeing the quality and integrity of the judiciary.

The President of the CSP, Dumitru Obada, emphasized the importance of continuing the good cooperation already established, highlighting the essential role of the Superior Council of Prosecutors in managing the career, selection and evaluation processes of prosecutors, as well as the contribution of the National Institute of Justice as the main platform for training and launching future prosecutors.

During the meeting, issues related to accessing European funding for the development of professional training programs, the development of common mechanisms for collecting feedback from prosecutors, ensuring training in decentralized formats for all prosecutors were also discussed.
